Né en 1976 à Ulm en Allemagne, Max Hattler, est un artiste reconnu de la scène expérimentale de l'image animée. Il réalise des films d'animation, des installations vidéo et des performances audiovisuelles. Son travail met en jeu les tensions entre abstraction et figuration, esthétique et politique, image et son, précision et improvisation. Il vit et enseigne à Londres. Il a animé en 2012 un atelier avec les étudiants en communication visuelle de la HEAD, Haute Ecole d'Art et de Design de Genève et conçu avec eux les bandes-annonces du Festival Animatou 2013.
Meeting with Max Hattler
Born in Ulm, Germany in 1976, Max Hattler is a well-known figure on the experimental animation scene for his films, installations and audiovisual performances. He lives and works in London and his work challenges the tension between abstraction and figuration, aesthetics and politics, image and sound, precision and improvisation. In 2012, he hosted a workshop with students in Visual Communication at the Geneva University of Art and Design, creating with them the trailers for Animatou 2013.
Max Hattler is a member of the international jury at this year's Festival and will be presenting Hattlerizer 2.0 an audiovisual performance with the musician and sound artist Vesper On.
